G-Dragon CRAYON (크레용) song and video review
Crazy on or
“Crayon” has been my theme song for the last few days ! Now that also the video is out
I am totally in love with it . Kind of a childish , unreasonable love , haha . :)
Warning : Don't take this review very seriously ;)
About the song - The first time
I heard it , it was like a big mess in my head … Actually I misheard GD talking
something about money and I was like “ not
again about your money , please … “ . Also “why so serious “ sounded a little
off in his mouth when I heard it first … but a little further in the song , I really didn’t care what he sings
about … the beat that was messing with my brain ...and it got me ! I started to like it so damn much ! Half way through the song I found myself singing
“come on , girl , come on boy …. “ And towards the end of the song ,when the “choir
“ started , I was like – I love this ! I love this ! Really . I am addicted !!!( btw , this "choir" reminds me of a football match cheering but it is so so cool ! makes the song so much more epic !)
Crayon is my official
addition ! It is the Fantastic Baby of this album . It makes me want to behaive as a total
fangirl and just say “ GD , I love this song
! Thank you ! I love you ! “ .
Music makes me emotion , as you see ...
Crayon is a
great party song . The lyrics are not so important in their meaning but in the
way they sound . And they sound cool and catchy enough so it is all in its place . The making of a new word makes it all more juicy !
Like a code ! It is all about letting go and having fun and the song is real
fun in itself . Why so serious !? Just let go ! ( I am now used to GD’s “why so serious “
and I like it so much . ) The song makes you want to get up and dance around . I
really would like to go to some big fancy night club where they can play this
song for me with lights and everything and I can dance around ! hahah …
So… as I said 100 times already I have became a big fan of this song . Now about the video .
The video is sugar and candy and pure happiness again ! You see , soon enough I will start speaking about rainbows and unicorns – that is cause I am so “drugged” by this song , hahah .
I was looking forward for this video and I wanted it to be something filmed “out of the studio” this time … but it is entertaining that I have no complains . It is the same as the song – just pure fun ! It keeps the same concept as well – to be crazy , funny and not serious . It is not something breathtaking, but is rather something that makes you laugh and smile and it really full of little elements ( as the other GD’s videos ) . Actually to some extend I think the song is a little bit more epic than the video , but since the video is so cool , I don’t care so much .
The whole video is a “dream” that GD is having , so being totally strange is very much ok for it .
I am not going to analyze things but rather point out moments I enjoyed about it . ( ok , just few of them .. otherwise this post will be endless ) !
Lets start from the beginning ( a lot of pictures may follow … )
Wonder Girl , pink color , cool blanket and sleeping GD . This is how it all starts . GD , dear , do you like Wonder Woman or are you Wonder Woman … or did you steal Wonder Woman’s clothes ? : ) Anyway ...
.
So he is dreaming , and it starts with the “diagnosis” that the doctor gives him – the diagnosis that he is crazy without a doubt . Just look at doctor GD's face ! That file must be really disturbing ! ;)
I love the fact GD plays all the characters again ! He might have said that he is not interested in acting , but he is such an “actor” – very artistic and just so adorable . GD is really adorable in this video and there are these moments when he really looks like a teenager ! Honestly is he getting older or younger ;) ?!
GD as the doctor – epic , GD as the crazy patient – epic ! I am laughing just thinking about it . You should know that as a fan of GD ( I guess you are fans too if you are reading this ) for me all he does is funnier than it might look to some people who see him for the first time . Is like seeing some of your friends in a funny videos – it is much better than seeing some stranger . So I guess , since I am kind of familiar of GD ( as much as a fan can be ) it is all so funny to me . And all this pink ! Makes it all much more ridi-larious ( just made that up from ridiculous and hilarious ) .
Now lets mention some details ! ( I love the details !)

| First -I have always liked this shoes ! They are quite nice ! I would like to paint my own shoes in a similar manner ! |

| Then the Batman earring . I so want this earring ! I am so going to find and buy one ! ( I like the Batman movies , just to tell you …ok , at least most of them ) |

lets not miss to say – the “bones” earrings ! Totally the right jewelry for a doctor ! I wonder if they are a memory from an old patient... |
And then we kind of "enter " the brain of GD from his ear ( it is all about the hearing , the music , again ) and we find him ... telegraphic ?
Now this is one of my favorite thing in the video – GDis in some sort of war clothes , in front of this " ancient " transmitter of some sort , but he is acting more like a DJ , as even sending a telegraph is music making – love it , love it . His message to the world - always the music ! ;)
Then he is going to get his swag “things “ – obviously some colorful weird items . I wish I had the chance to check them out better . They need to put those things ( or copies of them ) in a YG museum , really !
But what most of the VIPs were more “interested” to see was the next scene where GD did finally show what all those hours in the gym were all about . Here come shirtless GD !

Only Tattoo are there to cover him up . GD is still not the macho man with tones of muscles but he looks good enough and he is nice view even without shirts , t-shirts or similar . GD has still kind of “feminine “ or simple “natural “ side to himself but this is what suits him best . He can be as sexy as he wants without the need of six pack or anything . It’s the swag , baby . ( and those arms )
Btw , only now , I finally started to like “Forever Young “ tattoo , that was the only one I didn’t quite like . I think it is meant to be shown and seen in that way – without any clothes to spoil the effect ;) .
In any case , the following scene was quite funny – GD is acting all like a man , shaving and stuff , with his big shaving machine … only that he really has nothing to shave … Well , the act is important ! lol

What about that new tattoos I notice ? Are they real ? I haven’t made my investigation on this case yet but I guess there are again few fake ones ( probably he wants to do them anyway) .
Now after this he is back in his room with what appear to be TOP’s toys . Did you steel that too , GD ? Or do you have toys of your own … anyway :) ( btw , they are boy and a girl )
It seems to me that the scenes outside of the room , are like parts of “movies” or stories that are happening on the TV . Most of those stories seem to be some sort of fairytale or similar .
Such as the little innocent drummer boy , who is actually a mischief kid , or better said , the Pinocchio himself . I will not comment more about this cause I might mentioned unnecessary suggestions .
( is just funny how the moment GD and TOP are left without the others of BIGBANG , some hot girl dancers appear … I guess they are there to fill up the emptiness of the other members missing … or they don’t invite them to BIGBANG’s videos cause they will just end up all around Seungri dressed us cat women – this is a silly joke , don’t take it otherwise . There have been hot girls in BIGBANG videos , so this is nothing new ) .
Now the videos get more and more confusing with all the different scene GD and his friends are watching on the TV , so I will just post few photos and commend on them to be easier to go on with this .

She was not very close friend of mine and her standards were rather "limited" for people who dreams about unlimited shopping experience , but I am sure she would have proposed to GD in this very moment . Sorry if this "review" is too random but I am writing it very in a hurry . I am back to my university life and there are many things that need to be done . Thanks to GD the transition from vacation to university has been less painful for me !

G-Dragon "One of a Kind " album review
I am going to try to write something
like a review of GD’s new album “One of a kind “ ( when the my physical album arrives I also added review of the song with Tablo at the end of the post .
I am in a
very happy mood today and it is probably because I have been listening to GD
almost all the time.
First of all - I really like this album . It makes me happy :) . It is like eating a box of exclusive chocolates – there are only few of them in the box , but they are all very special and have unique taste . According to your own liking you might prefer one of the taste more than the others , such as milk chocolate over dark one , for example ; but as a whole – after you have consumed them all – the after taste is pure happiness ! There are must be some subconscious smile that came to your face after listening to this album . This is why I compare it to chocolate . Following this “metaphor “ , later I will describe you those songs as the tastes of chocolate they seem to be ( for me ) .
I only have one problem with this album – is strongly insufficient ! How about more songs , GD ?! I am a greedy person , I know .... anyway
As I
mentioned before this album is a variety – as if GD just wants to try out
different styles and music elements . This is one of the reasons this album is
interesting . Of course it might have just turned out to be a total mess of unrelated
song , but this is not the case . The songs complement each other and give you something to relate
to in each of them ( well , not that many of us can fully relate to “one of a
kind “ but it is a fun song and I am sure some of you might occasionally feel like
“one of a kind” people ;) )
I will be honest to you - I do not think GD is a genius or that he is the best composer out there and or that this is the best album ever . I have listen to too much music to say such a think . Not to mentioned that there is not such thing as "the best " as long as personal taste is involved . But I DO think that G-Dragon is unique , that he is very talented and he is one of the best Korean musicians that I know of . I love the fact that he is always searching for new elements to add to his music and to his style . GD is not kpop . GD is GD . Period. "One of a kind " .
His music , performances and style really stands out . There is just something so ... modern and contemporary about the things he does . He did not disappointed me with this album because I really enjoy it ! Thank you , GD ! Please keep to good work ! :) I really wish to find a way to thank all the people who worked with GD on this album . He is so lucky to have people like Teddy to work with . Teddy has become a sinonim of good music in my head , haha .
I am so glad that GD is taking over the charts in Korea ! Fully deserves it !!!
( Note : I really enjoyed his "countdown" videos . He seemed exited for his album's release , almost as a child . I mean , after working so much on something so "personal" , as you own music , obviously you will be all worried about how it might go . When you are also famous and loved so much , the pressure should be greater . Just seeing GD in the studio with his friends , gave me some nice feeling ... it makes me think again and again that he is doing this ( music ) because he really likes it , not just because he likes to be famous and rich and would do anything that guarantees him this . )

so I am not going to repeat myself and I will simple move on to the other songs

they should just call them the “Mystery Girls hahah ) )
This is the
song I paid less attention to in the beginning but later today I was listening
to it in the bus and I felt as flouting in the air ! ( sorry for my expression … this is how I
describe music – very unprofessional but still … ) . After that I started liking
the song much more . It gives me some kind of relaxing mood and really drifts
me away in some other reality. The “?” girl has a nice voice and I like the
tempo and the developing of the song .
Maybe now
is the time to say , that I want to have all those songs’ instrumentals ,
because they sound so well that I want to hear every little bit of their music .
I read the
translation of the song and liked it even more and more . It is sad but not
depressing … just a little sad , as the cold wind is cold but not freezing .
The meaning of the words matches well
with the mood of the music. To
put a stop of my endless talking , lets say there is something dreamy about the
song . I didn’t liked so much at first
but it grew on me a lot .
What kind
of chocolate it is … well , imagine that it tastes as the candies you used to eat when you
were little – it remains you of something that will never return to you – it is
nostalgic taste , a taste of a dream . And if I try to be more specific it is
more like …mint taste – refreshing . ( I love mint , btw ) .

know I might sometimes contradict my own words saying that something is “sad”
but “refreshing “ … but music can evoke contradicting emotions , so why not ;)
)
Missing You
(Feat. 김윤아 of 자우림)
This song
is so … lovely ! Really lovely ! Just this word keeps popping up in my mind
when I think about “Missing You “ . In a way for me is in the same cathegory as “결국 “ of relaxing song “ ( I call like that songs that I
like to listen to when I travel or drawing … or songs that I can just lay down and listen to , without doing
anything else – just listen and enjoy )
I think “Missing you” is a song we have no choice but to like. As you
might remember GD called this song the most “people friendly “ and I agree with
him .
You don’t have to even know who or about what is singing to just enjoy this
song . It is kind of simple but has very nice flow and melody . The whistling
effect is also very good touch to it . It is the “mood maker “ of the song .
Taste … like cherries and strawberries ! A milk chocolate with
strawberry flavor !
Today (Feat. 김종완 of Nell)
I was so
interested to hear this song because I like Nell’s music and I was very curios
about this collaboration. The result – one very particular song . I think they
both kind of remained to be , well , themselves .

combination of GD and 김종완 voices and the change of mood make
this song a little schizophrenic but … I like it . GD’s songs are usually “evolving” from the
start to the end and it often happens that they have some unexpected turn to
them!
This song
has such a happy vibes in the chorus and then there is this sudden drop to more
“sad” tune … Ok , at this point I checked the lyrics and after that I think I get it
better . The character of the song is tempted to cheat on this girlfriend as it
appears to me …or at least to go out with some other girl , so he is like “shall I or shall I not “… and then he suddenly is “OK , whatever ! I
will follow my spontaneous wishes ! Lets go !!! Wow Wow ! “ Later he is down again and feeling
insecure … but after all he is “young and wild “ so he kind of chooses to live for the moment or simple to enjoy all that he desires !

chocolates … this should just have the classic milk chocolate taste but with a
hidden coffee bean in it . So you taste it and it is like “ oh , it is nice “
and then you get to the coffee and you are like “ wow ! yeah ! I have so many
energy ! Let’s party ! “

PS Some people were "offended" about GD's album looking like the Bible . Please , people , this is just an artistic references . I hope you are not really offended . I don't want to enter the real of religion but I want to only suggest you , that no matter which one is your religion don't be too superficial about it . It is a spiritual thing above all else , right ? So don't be too "material" about it - the symbols of your religion are , without a doubt , important for you , but what religion really is about is not symbols but it is about a certain point of view on live , is about the virtues we need to keep and protect and about the kind of people we should try to be .At least this is how I see it . An album cover that only tries to give interesting meaning to its contents , is not meant to offend you . Isn't music GD's personal "religion " , isn't his album kind of a "sacred " to his life ? Maybe this is the only reference there .

G-Dragon and other updates
Hello !
GD's mini album is finally out and I love it ! I am going to write more about my thoughts about the songs from the album these days and I have decided to make the September Issue of VIP Magazine a G-Dragon Special :) .
Don't forget to share any impressions you have from that album if you want to !
I will be posting that next issue probably at the end of september / beginning of October .

G-DRAGON - THAT XX (그 XX) M/V review ( impressions ) + song translation
I couldn’t help it so I had to comment ! ( in the review I sometimes refer to the translation of the song that you can read it at the end of this post )
First of all - I love GD for giving us something different from his previous things !
More and more I want to hear that new album !!!
Anyway , about the song …. It is so simple but it nails it .
First I thought – isn’t it too simple ? But then I found myself wanting to play it again and I kept replaying it and I cannot stop myself . The song is just so smooth , caressing the senses that I cannot stop listen to it . Pronouncing each word in his particular way , as if he “plays” an instrument with words ,GD manages to conveys the song’s emotions pretty well . It seems that all the song is based on that acoustic guitar sound and it is just … so good . Do I need to say more ? I like this song ! As simple as it is , I like it .
It is a little sad without being tragic , it is full of emotion without being too loud about them and I don’t get tired of it , no matter if it goes on forever … it is like the flow of a river that I float on forever . Sorry, I am not very good at describing songs , so I am only trying to describe the feeling they give me .
Now about the video! I love the video. It is that kind of simple as well, beautiful video that matches well with the song mood. Nothing much is going on in there but it is not too random as some M/V are.
We can see those two people who share some relationship as if they are almost lovers but there are not … there are more like “friends “ , because he loves her , while she loves some other jerk .
The video has its little moments and symbols that tell the story of the song . First we can see GD “spying” from behind the window blinds and seeing the other man with another girl . After that he is telling about that to the main girl, but she doesn’t believe him so they argue . Later he says “ I am sorry “ ( rather sends her a note ) . We can see him observing her , looking at her from a far , spying from the door lock … We can see her photos with the other guy , that she is happy with him .
There is this moment when GD close some note book and locks it away ,as if he gives up from her case , or hide the truth from her ( because she won't listen to it anyway ) .
I like the moment when GD calls the girl “blind “ and we see a veil fall over her face as if to show how her love covers her sight .
Towards the end of the video , we see GD who is suffering and worrying because of the girl … she keeps meeting her other man , but also cries for some pain of her own …We can see them separately but in a similar bath scene , as if they share the same kind of pain or worries., sinking in the same problems .. or not exactly .
GD is now desperate and we see him breaking and kicking things around him ( I guess things needs to get broken in videos . Good way to add more drama and to show the troublesome emotion of the characters … more things you break , worse you feel ;) )
At the end GD is still by the girl’s side , being her support and shoulder . What a lucky girl , she should really get to see who is the right man for her , right ? But sometimes people tend to love the one that hurts them , in stead of the one that always cares for them …
Update : Now , that I watched the video more carefully without being distracted by various things ... ok by how good GD looks in a suit ..., so I watched it and I realised that he is not only the bad guy in the beginning , as I though , but in the whole video ! I think the tattoos , for example , are one of the signs of the other character that GD plays ( also the face expressions ). He plays the "good" and the "bad" guy ! How cool is that ! How the video makes much more sense to me :) . I decided to just add this , cause it changes a lot of things . Otherwise all else is "first impression" review .
I will comment on few more things – first is the video effects, filters and so on . I am not against them in general . A little bit of blur and filters is good and it looks nice in some part of the video but … some of the filters here I really dislike ! Sorry , but they bug me a lot ! Especially when they make GD’s or the girls’ skin look like covered with powder. They shouldn’t overdo those effects or just add random blurs . The official photos for the video are really really amazing – I love their classic look , the soft colors , the details …. I wish the video was more “clear” like them and less “instagram-ed “ .
Let me say also a few words about the girl – Jennie Kim . Yes , she is very beautiful and she has some very specific aura around her . She instantly made me think of the girl that Mina Know drew for Taeyang as his girlfriend . I don’t know if it is a coincidence … or probably another way to promote her and GD’s new video or give a hint for it …. Idk . I hope Jennie and the other girls from the new YG group are not only pretty but also will show us some good skills and performance . Since they are YG artists I am very interested to hear their songs ! But if all their concept is mainly based on the fact that they are very pretty , I am not interested . I don’t think that will be the case , though , so lets wait and see .
I would like to say one more thing , after I read some unpleasant comments in youtube -people don’t hate on the new girl group , please ! Actually, it is very nice the way YG artist support each other. Everyone needs some kick start and I am sure that since they all share common passion for music and they do want to help each other . It is not like YG is “forcing “ them or anything . It is much better for everyone in the company if all company's artist are doing well , right ? They are a team .
Jennie is very young , don’t start disliking her or talk against her just cause she is close to GD or because he is trying to promote her and the new group , or because she is the “love interest “ in GD’s video , or because of some other stupid jealousy reason .
Be supportive and give those girls a chance .
Now back to the video ! The whole atmosphere of the MV is so good ! All the details, the little things , the places , the light ! Except for those filters, I love it all. It is not some very original video but it is beautiful and elegant - I like those kind of videos.
One thing must be acknowledged as well – G Dragon looks so hot ( better said handsome ) in this video ! I usually try to avoid to give such comments, but I need to say it this time. He is really good looking and sexy in this video . There is a little bit of “bad boy” hint in him, probably because of the tattoos , the rings and the earrings , also because of certain gestures and looks . He is also very classical and stylish . He is like gentlemen but also someone who is not purely good or innocent .
Everything in the video is like from another era – very old fashioned , like in some old movie – see the telephones , the car , also other items and even the classic clothes GD wears ( mostly suits ) and his “normal “ ( especially for him ) but stylish hairstyle . Honestly , all this makes me think of some …. ( don’t laugh it is just a reference to the atmosphere it makes me think of ) elegant son of a mafia boss . Don’t laugh , ok ! Actually at second thought , I can see him also as some “detective “ who has discovered all those things for the girls’ boyfriend , almost as he was “investigating “ him … of course these are all references that come out of my mind , but I am sure none of them is what the video is about .
What I want to say with all this is that I like the fact that the video manages to create that kind of movie like atmosphere and to give some particularity to GD’s character. Like “Tell me Goodbye “ video but still VERY different . GD’s character in “ That XX “ is gentle and caring , stylish and rich , but he possess some roughness in his otherwise very “perfect” and “classical “ look . Also using a “bad word” in this otherwise “clean” song lyrics is like a little hint of imperfection in the perfection. I like that because GD makes that "character " more real that way if that makes any sense to you. The fact that such a song got to be forbidden for people under 19 yeard old, for one single swearing word , but GD kept that word to his lyrics , should suggest something to you , right ? What that might be , is up to you to understand as you want it .
One last thing about GD in this video is that he looks so manly , but not like some macho , just more “mature “ . I don’t know why I always compare GD with a prince but he gives me this aura. In this video I get this same feeling as I see him . The turtle necks , the suits , the shirts … this is something I am used to see on TOP the most , but GD looks really good in that style as well . Another great talent of G Dragon is the way he manages to “communicate “with the camera, how he looks at it and later it seems that he really looks at you from that PC screen . This GD’s talent is very obvious when he is doing commercials or photo shots . His communication with the eye of the camera in this video is also awesome .
The other BIGBANG members also have that same talent to different degree , TOP especially . It is BIGBANG’s special charisma ! GD , however , haves tones and tones of it !
I do not like GD just because he is handsome , but I needed to acknowledge how good he looks in this video , sorry if it got too long .
